QUESTIONS?
How do I book a chef in my home?
If you'd like to book Down to Cook for weekly meal service or a private event, you can do so by clicking HERE; we will respond promptly.
Can DtC accommodate my dietary restrictions?
Down to Cook can accommodate most dietary restrictions. Our chefs are well-versed in preparing Paleo, Whole 30, Vegan/Vegetarian, Gluten-Free & Food Allergy-restricted meals.
Do I need to be home while my chef cooks?
No, you do not need to be home, but you certainly can be...we love company and talking food! Our chefs are background checked and insured, so you can trust us to be in your home unsupervised as you would a nanny or other professional service.
What do I need to provide?
Down to Cook chefs carry their own cooking tools (knives, smallwares, etc.), but we ask that customers provide basic pots, pans, baking sheets, baking dishes and kitchen towels. This list is a great reference for what professionals use at home.
Any other questions? Here's a few more details:
Appointments last approximately 3 hours (including shopping time). The chef will shop for your groceries immediately before arrival. He will arrive and cook, package your food in reusable, microwave- & freezer-safe containers and leave your kitchen spotless.
Customers can cancel appointments no less than 24 hrs. prior to appointment time with no cancellation fee. Cancellations within 24 hrs. of appointment time will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
Down to Cook strives to use the best available products; I use Texas and/or local products wherever possible. Customers are free to customize what types/brands of products the chef purchases as well. If one wants all-organic/gluten-free/non-gmo, I will purchase only products that meet that criteria.
